Kelly, yeah, I don't feel comfortable spending more for the same reason.
I also plan to take some workshops and will post about my learning.
Would you like to guest post about your learning curve?

unconfidentialcook, I'm planning a new series with tips for beginners, like myself.
However, if you would like to guest post about your experience - it's open to ALL levels - what you learn, what you try to do, challenges, good lucks, etc... I invite you to please do so!

I love the post on food porn. :-) I'm still a beginner when it comes to photography. I shot with a film SLR for years before I got my DSLR, but I'm still a newbie when it comes to using and picking out lenses. I recently treated myself to a Olympus 35mm f/3.5 1:1 Macro Zuiko Lens. It was the right price point and I don't feel like I know enough to go much more expensive yet. That said, I already have plans to take a photography seminar class this winter so I'm hoping I'll learn a lot.

2 things... 1 you just taught me a few things about cameras, cool.
And 2 I stand corrected on what I originally thought was "food pron"
If you have to ask, I'm not going to tell.
