It doesn't necessarily have to be a special date, but it's time away from everyone else focusing on each other. We hope that by making that weekly us time a habit, it'll be a little easier to implement with kids. Maybe we just have to live close to relatives for cheap babysitting! Monday is our “us” day, no matter how busy we are we make sure we have dedicated connecting time. We just went out for Asian Fusion, though, and it reminds us that we should make more of a point of date night. We've been talking about having children as young couples these days and I'm always thinking about the things you complained above. I think I'm not altruistic enough to change all directions of my life and all sharings with my husband for having little, cute things.
