I have 2 nephews that lived here when they were 3 and 5 and trust me, I know what you mean. Now that they moved, I kind of miss them.

Monday is our "us" day, no matter how busy we are we make sure we have dedicated connecting time. It doesn't necessarily have to be a special date, but it's time away from everyone else focusing on each other. We hope that by making that weekly us time a habit, it'll be a little easier to implement with kids. Maybe we just have to live close to relatives for cheap babysitting!

We don't have many date nights--we wait until Emma goes off to a sleepover. We just went out for Asian Fusion, though, and it reminds us that we should make more of a point of date night. Your kids are so sweet!

Your kids are adorable! We don't get to do regular date nights unfortunately with my husband's busy travels when he is here, he likes to spend one or two evenings at home :) But we do date weekends 3-4 times a year (lucky to have grandma and grandpa in the area) - an occasional getaway is really nice!

Your children are so cute. We've been talking about having children as young couples these days and I'm always thinking about the things you complained above. I think I'm not altruistic enough to change all directions of my life and all sharings with my husband for having little, cute things. But I must admit that I always admire mothers.
